Trump recently reminded us that his words about Canada should be taken seriously. At the same time, America is facing an egg shortage. In many stores, including chain supermarkets, the shelves where eggs used to be sold are simply empty. And prices in many states have soared from $2 to $7 per dozen. The reason is the H5N1 bird flu, which has been raging in the US since 2022. Within three years about 150 million farmed birds, from chickens to turkeys, needed to be slaughtered. Moreover, the European Union has refused to supply America with eggs, stating that it barely has enough of its own.
And what is the basic logic in the US? Is it material or spiritual? “Pharisees” or “Great Virtuals”? If the “Great Virtuals” prevail, the victories may be just virtual. But it appears that even in this aspect, the Trump administration has enormous difficulties. Although, it would seem so simple to defeat the interlocutor on live TV, to trample over him, to showcase your dominance – but, unfortunately, even with this there are difficulties.
It Is one thing to read prepared texts in advance and make egregious statements, but it is another thing when you are facing the same prepared “egregious person”, who is also a comedian, who can make things up on the fly that follow a pre-thought-out script written with his producers and curators. Which means that the algorithms of the Great Pharisees, where it is necessary to threaten, and through this threat to force into action do not work. (Here you can find the source video of Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office yelling at each other).
The eggs (as Russian slang refers to balls in their Enlgish language slang definition) are clearly a problem. And the epathetic reality show turns out to be not the best either. That is, the best television channels and media corporations are now losing out to loner comedians.
For example, let’s compare MrBeast, a blogger with 377 million subscribers on YouTube, and CNN with 17.7 million (yes, the same CNN that broadcast the shooting of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR). Thirty years have passed, a whole era has changed. And now this one social media influencer is being watched by more people than super media corporations.
Trump gave an interview to Tucker Carlson and it was watched by about 130 million people in less than 24 hours. Now that’s a show!
That’s real public interest. What about CNN or Fox? There are obvious difficulties with the show.
Viewers don’t trust official media anymore, so the agenda is poured into the masses through apolitical lone bloggers. America’s established media industry can’t handle the new format. The channels had served the oligarchs and the industrial sector, they were subsidised and paid for, and over time they degenerated. And now the American powers that be have no tools of their own.
Now the tools are social media, like X or the new digital tycoons, who aren’t able to set the agenda themselves.
There is a need for social media influencers, and this need makes American democracy even more vulnerable. If it turns into “the Great Virtual,” that’s a different model. You can’t make America great again in this model. Great virtualisation will lead to drugs, i.e. virtual (unwarranted) narcissism and self-destruction.
THE PARABLE OF THE THREE ENVELOPES
One manager succeeds another, and the old manager, handing over business to the new one, gives him three numbered envelopes with the words: “When things get really bad, open the first envelope. The second time it becomes bad, open the second envelope, and then the third.”
The new manager was eager to get to work, but soon realised that everything was not as simple as he had thought at the beginning. And when the problems completely overwhelmed him, he decided to open the first envelope.
There was one phrase: “Blame it on me”.
Now in all his speeches, the manager did not forget to insert at least a few words about the mistakes of the old manager, that his management methods were not up-to-date and how we now have to deal with the results of the previous miscalculations.
For some time the new head lived very well. People began to treat him with understanding, but this period soon came to an end and problems began again. The manager had to open the second envelope. It contained only two words: “Reorganize”.
This time too, the manager did as he was advised and life got better again.
How can you scold someone who is engaged in reorganization and pursues innovative policy? However, time passed, and the manager again found life difficult.
He felt things gettingg out of hand again, so he habitually reached for the third envelope. The message read: “Prepare three envelopes!”
Trump had opened the first envelope when he was up for re-election and declared the Biden Administration in the wrong; the second when he began to solve all the crises now piling up by closing entire agencies and laying off employees. But there’s still the Ukraine crisis, and Trump has only one envelope left. It’s interesting to wonder when will it be opened? At this rate, it won’t be half a year before the third letter will have to come out.
Many US cities will hold mayoral elections in 2025. Judging by the current trend of the Trump administration, this will have a failed outcome.
